The trading journal for Zerodha traders

Console tradebook CSV · AI screenshot import · Kite API sync

Journal your Zerodha trades three ways — Console tradebook CSV, AI-read Kite screenshots, or same-day Kite API sync. See the ₹ cost of every mistake.

Kite shows the number. It never shows the habit.

Console will tell you last month's P&L to the paisa. What it can't tell you is that four of your worst NIFTY option losses were revenge entries within ten minutes of a stop-out, or that your 9:20 AM impulse trades quietly cost ₹18,000 across the month. PnL Book is a trading journal built for exactly that gap — it turns your Zerodha fills into round-trip trades, lets you tag the mistakes, and totals what each habit costs in rupees.

The reason most journals die is data entry, so getting your Zerodha trades in is the part we've made almost free: a full Console history import, an AI that reads Kite screenshots, or a Kite connection that syncs trades the same day on its own.

Three ways to get your Zerodha trades in

Console tradebook CSV. Your complete trade history from Zerodha's own reports — equity and F&O, multiple fills per order.

  • Log in at console.zerodha.com and open Reports → Tradebook.
  • Pick the segment (equity or F&O) and a date range — Console caps each download at 365 days, so pull older history in 365-day chunks.
  • Download the CSV, then in PnL Book go to Import → Zerodha Console — Tradebook CSV and upload it.
  • Review the parsed rows and commit — FIFO pairing turns your buys and sells into round-trip trades.

AI screenshot import. A screenshot of your Kite P&L, positions or orders screen becomes journal entries in seconds.

  • Take a screenshot of your P&L, positions or orders screen — keep the full table visible, portrait orientation, no popups over the numbers.
  • In PnL Book, choose Import → Screenshot — any broker and upload up to 5 images (PNG/JPG). AI reads the symbols, fills and timestamps.
  • Every parsed row lands in a review queue first — fields the AI wasn't sure about are highlighted, duplicates are flagged. Nothing is saved until you commit.

Kite API sync. Connect once, and today's trades arrive on their own — same day, no downloads.

  • In PnL Book, open Settings → Broker connections and choose Zerodha.
  • Log in through Zerodha's official Kite login — PnL Book never sees or stores your password.
  • That's it. Trades sync automatically the same day; you just review and tag them.

Then price the mistakes

Importing is the boring half. Once your Zerodha trades are in, tag the ones that broke your rules — revenge trade, oversized, moved stop, held loser — and PnL Book totals the ₹ cost of each habit per month. Revenge trading: −₹23,400 this month reads very differently from “I should be more disciplined.” It's the difference between a resolution and an invoice — the full argument is in Price Your Mistakes, and if you're still journaling in a spreadsheet, here's where the Excel sheet gives up.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import my full Zerodha trading history?

Yes. Zerodha Console's tradebook covers your complete history. Each download is capped at 365 days, so export older years in 365-day chunks and upload each CSV — duplicate fills are detected automatically, so overlapping ranges are safe.

Does PnL Book handle Zerodha F&O trades?

Yes. Equity and F&O tradebooks both parse, including multiple fills per order. Buys and sells are paired FIFO into round-trip trades, so win rate and average loss are computed on decisions, not raw fills.

Is connecting my Kite account safe?

Sync uses Zerodha's official Kite Connect login. You authenticate on Zerodha's own page, PnL Book never sees or stores your password, and you can disconnect from Settings at any time.

How quickly does Kite API sync bring in today's trades?

Same day. Once Zerodha is connected in Settings, executions sync automatically with no file downloads — open PnL Book after the close and today's trades are waiting in your review queue.

Will PnL Book give me trade calls or tips for Zerodha?

No. PnL Book analyzes your own past trades — it prices your mistakes and shows your patterns. It never gives investment advice, tips, signals or profit promises, and it is not affiliated with Zerodha.
