DXtrade shows the P&L. It doesn't show the habit.
DXtrade's history widgets give you the number to the cent and a CSV button to match. What the export can't tell you is that most of your damage comes from a handful of repeated mistakes — a moved stop here, an oversized entry there — not from bad luck. PnL Book is a trading journal built for that blind spot: it turns your DXtrade history into round-trip trades, lets you tag the mistakes, and totals what each habit costs you in dollars.
Most journals die from data entry, so getting your DXtrade trades in is the part we've made almost free: the CSV export from the order-history widget, or an AI that reads a screenshot of any DXtrade screen. Because prop firms configure DXtrade differently, we validate the CSV parser against real exports — and screenshot import is the reliable fallback if a file is laid out unusually.
Two ways to get your DXtrade trades in
DXtrade history — CSV. DXtrade's order/position history widget, exported to CSV straight from the platform.
- In DXtrade, open the Orders or Positions history widget and set the time frame you want.
- Click the CSV export button in the top-right corner of the widget to download the list.
- In PnL Book, go to Import → DXtrade (CSV) and upload the file.
- Review the parsed rows and commit — fills are paired into round-trip trades and duplicates are skipped.
AI screenshot import. A screenshot of your DXtrade history or positions screen becomes journal entries in seconds — the fallback when the export is missing.
- Take a screenshot of your closed-trades, positions or orders screen — keep the whole table visible, no popups over the numbers.
- In PnL Book, choose Import → Screenshot — any broker or platform and upload up to 5 images (PNG/JPG). AI reads the symbols, sizes, prices and timestamps.
- Every parsed row lands in a review queue first — anything the AI wasn't sure about is highlighted and duplicates are flagged. Nothing is saved until you commit.
Then price the mistakes
Importing is the boring half. Once your DXtrade trades are in, tag the ones that broke your rules — revenge trade, oversized, moved stop, held a loser — and PnL Book totals the dollar cost of each habit per month. Oversized entries: −$2,100 this month reads very differently from a vague resolution to size down. If you're on a challenge, it maps straight onto journaling on a funded account, and the broader method is in journaling across prop platforms.
Frequently asked questions
How do I export trade history from DXtrade?
Open the order-history or positions widget in DXtrade, set your time frame, and click the CSV export button in the widget's top-right corner. Upload that file in PnL Book under Import → DXtrade (CSV).
My prop firm's DXtrade looks different — will the import still work?
DXtrade is configured per broker, so widgets and column layouts vary. We validate the CSV parser against real DXtrade exports, but if your firm's file is laid out unusually, screenshot import reads any DXtrade screen as a fallback. Every row is reviewed before it's saved.
Can I journal a funded DXtrade challenge account?
Yes. Whether it's a challenge, funded or personal DXtrade account, the export and screenshot paths work the same way, and PnL Book pairs your fills into round-trip trades so drawdown and average loss reflect whole decisions.
Will PnL Book give me trade ideas for DXtrade?
No. PnL Book analyzes your own past DXtrade trades — the $ cost of each mistake and your patterns over time. It never gives signals, tips or price predictions, and it is not affiliated with DXtrade or Devexperts.
