The trading journal for cTrader traders

cTrader statement — CSV · AI screenshot import

Journal your cTrader trades two ways — export the History statement to CSV, or upload an AI-read screenshot. See what every trading mistake costs you in $.

cTrader shows the deal history. It doesn't show the leak.

cTrader's History tab keeps every deal and closed position, and its statement export is clean. What the statement can't tell you is where your account leaks — that your best setups pay while a cluster of impulse trades near the open quietly costs you a few hundred dollars a week. PnL Book is a trading journal built for that gap: it turns your cTrader statement into round-trip trades, lets you tag the mistakes, and totals what each habit costs you in dollars.

Data entry is what kills most journals, so getting your cTrader trades in is the part we've made almost free: the CSV export from cTrader's own statement, or an AI that reads a screenshot of any cTrader screen when an export isn't handy. Because brokers white-label cTrader, we validate the CSV parser against real exports — and screenshot import is the universal fallback.

Two ways to get your cTrader trades in

cTrader statement — CSV. cTrader's History statement, exported to CSV — your full deal and closed-position history in one file.

  • In cTrader, open the History tab at the bottom of the platform and set the date range you want.
  • Click the Statement button, open the down-arrow menu and choose Export to CSV, then save the file.
  • In PnL Book, go to Import → cTrader (CSV) and upload it.
  • Review the parsed rows and commit — deals are paired into round-trip trades and duplicates are skipped.

AI screenshot import. A screenshot of your cTrader history or positions screen becomes journal entries in seconds — the fallback when an export isn't handy.

  • Take a screenshot of your closed-trades, positions or orders screen — keep the whole table visible, no popups over the numbers.
  • In PnL Book, choose Import → Screenshot — any broker or platform and upload up to 5 images (PNG/JPG). AI reads the symbols, sizes, prices and timestamps.
  • Every parsed row lands in a review queue first — anything the AI wasn't sure about is highlighted and duplicates are flagged. Nothing is saved until you commit.

Then price the mistakes

Importing is the boring half. Once your cTrader trades are in, tag the ones that broke your plan — revenge trade, oversized, moved stop, chased an entry — and PnL Book totals the dollar cost of each habit per month. Chasing entries: −$1,400 this month is a number you can fix, not a mood you promise to manage. If you trade a challenge, the same idea drives journaling on a funded account, and the wider case is in journaling across prop platforms.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export my cTrader trade history to CSV?

Open the History tab at the bottom of cTrader, set your date range, click the Statement button, open its down-arrow menu and choose Export to CSV. Upload that file in PnL Book under Import → cTrader (CSV).

The cTrader CSV import is broker-dependent — what if it doesn't parse?

cTrader is white-labelled by many brokers, so column layouts can vary slightly. We validate the parser against real cTrader statement exports, but if your broker's file looks unusual, screenshot import is the reliable fallback — it reads any cTrader screen. Either way, nothing is saved until you review and commit.

Does it handle both closed positions and individual deals?

Yes. The History statement lists your deals and closed positions, and PnL Book pairs them into round-trip trades so your stats measure decisions rather than raw fills. Check the highlighted rows in the review queue before committing.

Will PnL Book give me cTrader trade signals?

No. PnL Book analyzes your own past cTrader trades — it prices your mistakes in $ and shows your patterns. No signals, tips or profit promises, and no affiliation with cTrader or Spotware.
